First elected Mayor in 2022, Nick Long has served on League City Council since 2014. He has voted 12 straight years to reduce the city tax rate. A more than 38% reduction! As Mayor, Nick put the taxpayers first by creating a fiscally conservative budget all while keeping League City ranked as one of the best places to live not just in Texas, but the entire United States.

First elected Mayor in 2022, Nick Long has led with a commitment to service, fiscal responsibility, and keeping League City one of the best places to live in Texas. A League City native and Clear Creek High School graduate, Nick earned his bachelor's degree and MBA from The University of Texas at Austin and has built a successful career in business. Nick and his wife, Kari, are raising their two sons in League City, where they remain active in the community.

As Mayor, Nick has upheld his promise of putting the taxpayer first by budgeting and managing city finances in a fiscally conservative manner and cutting property tax rates every year. Since first getting elected on League City Council, Nick has cut the City of League City's tax rate by over 38%.
Safe Neighborhoods
League City is one of the safest cities to live in Texas because it supports it's First Responders. Nick has added more police officers, invested heavily in the Fire Department and achieving the highest fire rating possible, and has increased EMS crews and ambulances. Nick has increased First Responder spending by 24% all while lowering tax rates in the city.
Growth & INfrastructure
Strong population growth comes with challenges like drainage, traffic and infrastructure. Nick has managed growth in a responsible way by investing in the right infrastructure and ensuring projects remain accountable to timelines and budgets. Under his leadership, the City of League City has increased it's Capital Improvement Plan budget significantly investing in drainage and road upgrades to address the needs of the city as it continues to grow at a record rate.
